Upwakit ye ir ilka morn an nicht
Wae nae clear end in sicht
Books an paper scail the flare
Empty bottles dreep nae mare

Scunnart an greetin aw dae
Anither yin is oan it’s wae
It’s siccar nae gaun tae end the nicht
An ye’r damnit gin ye see the licht

Sall ye hae anither fecht wae it
Or sall ye jist bi done wae it
Up an doon an coffees aw aroon
It’ll bi a lang time afore ye’r up toon
